Nothing Phone 2a Plus is scheduled to launch later this month in India. Ahead of its launch, the company has confirmed the processor Nothing will be employing the phone. The Phone 2a Plus will come with upgraded features over the Phone 2a, and that’s why it will be powered by a new MediaTek Dimensity chipset.
The Nothing Phone 2a Plus will come with a new chipset. Nothing has confirmed that it will be powered by a MediaTek Dimensity 7350 Pro octa-core SoC. This is a new chipset that Nothing says is exclusive to the upcoming Phone 2a Plus for now.
Since the processor is new, we cannot conclude how it may perform. But it should be slightly better than the Dimensity 7200 Pro in the existing Phone 2a. Nothing says that it’s 10 percent faster overall than the Phone 2a. Also, it comes with a Mali-G610 MC4 GPU, which is said to offer a good gaming performance.
Apart from the chipset, the Phone 2a Plus will have up to 12GB of RAM and support an additional 8GB of RAM with RAM Booster technology. The device will have 4K video recording support on both front and rear cameras, as confirmed previously.
The other specs of the Phone 2a Plus remain under wraps, but you can expect a slight upgrade in a couple of aspects over the existing model. Nothing’s Co-Founder Akis Evangelidis confirmed that the Plus model will be a beefed-up Phone 2a and will be for those who want more power.
The Plus model may not get major design changes, but it could have some other tweaks. The screen is expected to be a 120Hz OLED panel. The camera may be similar to the existing model, i.e. a dual-rear camera setup. We also expect to see the Glyph interface like the Phone 2a.
Since not much is known about the phone, our only option now is to wait for its launch. Fortunately, we won’t have to wait for long as the launch is on July 31, which is just next week.
Nothing’s Phone 2a is one of the popular devices in the under Rs 25,000 price segment. While we do not know the Phone 2a Plus’ price range, we can expect it to cost slightly higher.
