OnePlus will not launch OnePlus 11 Pro or 11T this year: Here's why

OnePlus recently launched its OnePlus 11 5G and OnePlus 11R 5G in India. However, if you are waiting for a OnePlus 11 Pro, chances are there won’t be one. As per a report by Android Authority, OnePlus is planning to kill off the Pro models permanently. OnePlus launched its first Pro model: OnePlus 7 Pro back on 2019.

As per the report, the company has confirmed that there wont be any ‘Pro’ models from the brand going forward. As per the official statement given to the publication”Starting with our 2023 lineup, we are streamlining the flagship portfolio in North America (and globally) by removing our Pro lineup. In our opinion, you don’t need to have a ‘Pro’ name for a device that’s already ‘pro.’”

In addition to this, the company even confirmed to Android Authority that there won’t be a OnePlus 11T 5G either. Usually, the ‘T’ models are launched in the second half of the year. As for the reason behind this decision, OnePlus wants to streamline its flagship portfolio. The company has not revealed if it is planning to launch any more flagship smartphones this year or not.

OnePlus 11 5G specifications

OnePlus 11 comes with a 6.7-inch QHD+ E4 OLED LTPO 3.0 display which supports a refresh rate of 120Hz. The smartphone supports a 100W SUPERVOOC fast charging system and a 5,000mAh duel-cell battery.

In terms of optics, the OnePlus 11 5G comes with a triple-camera system at the back. The smartphone has an IMX890 50MP main sensor, an IMX709 32MP portrait sensor and an IMX581 48MP ultra-wide sensor. The phone also has a 16MP primary camera at the front.

The smartphone is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC which has been paired with an Adreno GPU. The device comes with up to 16GB of LPDDR5 RAM and 256GB of UFS 4.0 storage. The handset will be shipped with Android 13 with an OxygenOS custom skin.

It is available for pre-order across Amazon India and OnePlus.in right and will go on sale on February 14 at 12 pm.
