iPhone 17 Productions In India Begins Ahead Of Launch In September: All Details

Apple is all set to launch its flagship iPhone 17 lineup next month, and several leaks and speculations have almost confirmed. Ahead of the launch, some reports now suggest that the iPhone 17 production has even begun in India. As per a report by PTI, Foxconn, one of the top manufacturers of iPhones, has started assembling the iPhone 17 at the Bengaluru plant. The Bengaluru plant in India is said to be the second-largest facility outside of China. In the meantime, Foxconn’s Chennai plant is also manufacturing the iPhone 17 in India, ramping up the production of the upcoming iPhone series. 

iPhone Production in India

The iPhone 17 is not the first case for the production of iPhones in India. For the last two years, Apple is actively manufacturing iPhones in India. Reports suggest that the iPhone production reached 60 million units in 2025 against the 35-40 million units back in 2024-25. However, Apple had started the assembly of the iPhones back in 2017 with its Special Edition — iPhone SE. Now, three major manufacturers do the work — Foxconn, Wistron and Pegatron.

iPhone 17 Series Launch Date (Expected) 

The iPhone 17 series, which is expected to bring four new models — the standard iPhone 17, a new iPhone 17 Air, iPhone 17 Pro and the top-end iPhone 17 Pro Max– are expected to launch in September 2025. To be precise, the September 9, several tipsters suggested based on the past trends of the launch. However, the final launch date of the iPhone 17 series is still unknown, which is expected to be announced soon.

The iPhone 17 Pro and Pro Max are expected to go through a major design change. As shown in the cover image, both models are expected to have a bigger camera module, in the form of a rectangle, while keeping the triple camera setup intact. While the iPhone 17 is expected to keep the similar design as the iPhone 16. On the other hand, the iPhone 17 Air, the new member of the series, is tipped to have a slimmer design.
