Managing privacy on social media, especially on Instagram, is crucial in today’s digital age. With over 2 billion active users worldwide, it becomes essential to regularly review and adjust your privacy settings to maintain control over your personal information is necessary.
One of the easiest way to secure your Instagram account is to set it on Private mode. Public accounts are more prone to spam attacks. You just need to go to your profile, tap the three horizontal lines, and then select “Settings.” Now toggle on “Private Account” to limit your content’s visibility. This will help you to also approve followers.
In Settings, select “Story” and choose who can see your stories: “Everyone,” “Close Friends,” or “Custom.”
In Settings, select “Comments” and choose who can comment on your posts: “Everyone,” “People You Follow,” or “Custom.” You can also limit who can mention you in comments and posts.
Go to settings and then select “Activity Status”. Now select “Show Activity Status” to hide your online presence.
One of the major safety measures is to avoid sharing your location, especially if you’re at home or in a sensitive area.
Regularly review your follower list and remove anyone you don’t know or trust.
The Two-Factor Authentication is also one of the best safety measure on Instagram. You just need to go to Settings, select “Security” and toggle on “Two-Factor Authentication” to add an extra layer of security to your account.
