Deals and sales can sometimes be manipulating as many sellers might hike up their prices and show fake discounts. This inflated price discounting is very common when big sales like the Great India Sale and BBD Sale take place. To tackle this, Amazon India has quietly rolled out a new Price History feature. This gives shoppers a quick way to see the pricing of the product and track whether this is the lowest price or if they should wait for a better deal. The new addition sits right below the product price on any listing. Users can tap on the button called Price History, and a pop-up instantly shows the item’s 30-day or 90-day pricing trend. This makes it easier to compare current prices against the lowest point in recent weeks so they don’t end up overpaying. Not only this, but users can also ask particular questions about the product in this tab, and the new smart Rufus AI will give them the perfect response.
Additionally, the best part is that unlike third-party extensions or browser tools, this data is built directly into Amazon’s app. This makes it more convenient and accessible for customers. This tool is powered by Rufus, the company’s new AI shopping assistant.
At the moment, this feature is available only for Android users. This feature is still in beta and Amazon is first testing it on Android devices and might soon roll it out for their web version and the iOS app.
Additionally, Amazon’s blog post about their new Rufus AI also mentions that users will soon be able to set price alerts based on their target price. Prime members will get more advanced features where Rufus can automatically purchase an item once it hits the desired price. With online shopping becoming more price-sensitive than ever, this built-in tracker feels like a practical and much-needed upgrade that all other e-commerce apps should also adopt in the coming future.
