Generative artificial intelligence lets you do hundreds of things. With the right app powered by generative AI, you can create images, music, videos, and more using text prompts. But some of these tools also let you edit photos in an entirely different way. With the help of generative AI tools, you can make someone from a photo disappear, change your position in a group photo, or change your clothes if you do not like the ones in the photo. Canva, one of the popular image editing tools, offers a bouquet of generative AI features, including Magic Edit that allows you to add to, replace, or edit images with just a text prompt. — Now tap and click the Edit option in both cases. You will see the option right below the uploaded image.
— Entering the photo editor will reveal additional options, including the ones powered by generative AI.
— Select Magic Edit from these options. A tutorial will help you navigate the tool better and understand the options.
— Choose the brush option, fine-tune its size to your preference, and then brush over the clothes in the image.
— Tap or click Continue and then enter the text prompt, which you want implemented on the photo. For instance, write a red shirt with floral patterns or green pants with chequered boxes.
— Now tap or click Generate to edit the brushed portion with an AI-generated clothing style.
That’s it. You can use this process to edit other elements in the photo, as well. For instance, you could change the cup in your hand to a flute or a hat on your head to a crown. Canva is currently offering the Magic Edit tool for free, but it may soon become paid much like other generative AI tools on the platform.
