With the NBA season just around the corner, 2K Games has officially announced the release details for NBA 2K26, the next installment in its flagship basketball video game franchise. The game will launch worldwide on Friday, September 5, 2025, and fans won’t have to wait until the season starts to get in on the action. Players who purchase the Superstar Edition or Leave No Doubt Edition gain early access starting August 29 at 1:00 PM ET. This release will be synchronised across all regions, meaning players on the West Coast can jump in at 10:00 AM PT, while those in the UK will start at 6:00 PM BST, and Japanese gamers began at 2:00 AM JST on August 30. WNBA Edition: Retailing at $69.99, this physical-only edition will be sold exclusively at GameStop in the U.S., available for PS5 and Xbox Series X|S.
As for the cover athletes, Oklahoma City Thunder star Shai Gilgeous-Alexander headlines the Standard Edition. NBA legend Carmelo Anthony and Chicago Sky forward Angel Reese will grace the NBA and WNBA editions respectively.
With new features and fresh faces on the cover, NBA 2K26 is shaping up to be a major release for basketball fans and gamers alike.
