The Gamescom Opening Night Live took place on August 20 and there is a promising update for Marvel fans. After waiting for a decent amount of time, Marvel Games and NetEase Games have finally announced that Marvel Rivals is coming this year on December 6, 2024. It is a Super Hero Team-Based Player vs Player Shooter and will allow the players to create a squad consisting of Super Villains and Super Heroes to battle it out against each other.
The game will also include some of the popular maps from the Marvel Multiverse. And the best part about the game is that all the characters will be free to play at the time of launch and even after that. The game went through multiple beta tests and finally, it is ready to make an official debut. Before the stable version launch, we can also get to see a couple of beta versions for the testers.
The game will be available on multiple platforms – PlayStation 5, PC, and Xbox Series X|S. Marvel Rivals is also bringing Winter Soldier and Captain America as free heroes in the game. Apart from that, the newest map in the game, Intergalactic Empire of Wakanda was also revealed in the event.
Marvel Rivals trailer details
The franchise also released the trailer of the game in which we can see Black Panther in front of his ancestor. The scene then transitions to show Winter Soldier followed by Captain America. The way they both indulge in battle is nothing less than cosmic. After that, the trailer shows us the battle mechanics. One thing that is clear is that the players will be able to use special abilities in the game.
Moving toward the end, we see a bulked-up Dr. Doom playing a chess-like game with Marvel Characters as chessmen. The trailer concludes by showing the logo of Hydra. There will be a lot of stuff for fans to explore in the game that’s for sure
