Motorola launched its new flagship smartphone, the Edge 50 Ultra, in India. It packs top-of-the-line specifications, such as the latest Snapdragon chipset, a high refresh rate display, water resistance, and a fast-charging battery. Other than the hardware, the Motorola Edge 50 Ultra uses wood on its rear panel for better sturdiness. As appealing as these features and design may be, the Motorola Edge 50 Ultra has good competition at its price. One of the biggest rivals is the iQOO 12, which has a faster processor, bigger battery, and bigger display.
The iQOO 12 costs Rs 52,999, while the Motorola Edge 50 Ultra starts at Rs 54,999. Both cost about the same, but which is better? Here is a comparison between their specifications.
Display: The iQOO 12 has a slightly bigger and brighter display if it is your priority. It uses a 6.78-inch Full-HD+ LTPO AMOLED display with a 144Hz refresh rate, HDR10+, and a peak brightness of 3000 nits. On the other hand, the Motorola Edge 50 Ultra uses a 6.7-inch Full-HD+ P-OLED display with a 144Hz refresh rate, HDR10+, and a 2500-nit of peak brightness.
Processor: If high performance is what you are looking for in your next phone, the iQOO 12 is a better option. Its Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor runs faster than the Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 chipset, which powers the Motorola Edge 50 Ultra. For graphics, the Motorola Edge 50 Ultra uses an Adreno 735 GPU, while the iQOO 12 packs an Adreno 750 GPU. Both phones have up to 16GB of RAM and offer up to 1TB of internal storage.
Cameras: Both Motorola Edge 50 Ultra and iQOO 12 have similar cameras. Both phones share a 50MP wide sensor, a 64MP periscope telephoto sensor, and a 50MP ultrawide sensor in the rear camera system. However, if you are looking for an 8K video recording, the iQOO 12 is a better option. Motorola’s phone has a 50MP selfie camera, while the iQOO 12 uses a 16MP front-facing camera for selfies and video calls. You get HDR video recording on both phones.
Battery: The iQOO 12 has a bigger battery, meaning that it will last slightly longer than the Motorola Edge 50 Ultra. You get a 5000mAh battery on the iQOO 12 as compared to the 4500mAh battery on the Motorola Edge 50 Ultra. The Motorola Edge 50 Ultra, however, offers a faster 125W fast wired charging than iQOO 12’s 120W technology. It also supports 50W wireless and 10W reverse wireless charging technologies. The iQOO 12 does not have wireless charging support.
