OpenAI has finally pulled off the curtains from the Strawberry project and it is officially known as OpenAI o1. The company recently release the new AI model with capability to think before dropping a response. As mentioned by OpenAI, the latest model can solve complex problems related to coding, science, and maths. OpenAI has suggested that they will keep updating the model to make it more and more efficient. However, the matter of concern here is that the new model comes with an expensive price tag.
OpenAI o1 model is a step ahead towards delivering human-like results by OpenAI. The model shows considerable improvements as it can now generate complex codes with better accuracy and efficiency than its predecessors. In layman’s language, the OpenAI o1 can perform quite identically to a PhD student by accomplishing complex tasks in subjects like biology, physics, and chemistry.
As confirmed by the developers, the o1 model lacks a handful of features that can be found on ChatGPT 4o. And that is quite understood because the latest release is an early model that will keep getting updated with time. Currently, the o1 model can solve academic and math problems without breaking a sweat.
Apart from the limited dataset, the o1 model is also slower in pace as compared to the current model. OpenAI has released two AI models including o1 and o1-mini. The mini version is a quick and inexpensive model that offers accurate coding solutions.
The OpenAI o1 model is available at a price of $15 per 1 million input tokens and $60 per 1 million output tokens. The price is a lot higher than what we got to see in the case of GPT 4o. The O1-mini will be available at a cost 80% lower than that of o1-preview. All the users who have ChatGPT Plus and Team subscriptions will be able to access the o1 model. For those who are unaware, the ChatGPT Plus subscription is available in the Indian market at a price of Rs 1,650.
