OpenAI o3-Pro is here! What is it about?
OpenAI has just introduced o3-pro, its latest AI model available on ChatGPT. If you’ve used ChatGPT Pro before, you might remember o1-pro. Well, O3-Pro is the new upgrade, designed to handle tougher problems with improved reasoning and accuracy.

OpenAI has revealed in a thread post on X (formerly Twitter) that the new o3-pro model has been gone through the rigorous “4/4 reliability” evaluation to analyse if the model is able to answer in all four attempts. Under the hood, o3-pro is based on the same core model as o3, which OpenAI released in April 2025 alongside o4-mini. The main difference? o3-pro runs in what’s called a “high-compute mode.” This means it requires more computing power and takes a bit more time to process information. How OpenAI o3-pro Model Will Help You?
OpenAI built o3-pro for users who need help in areas like:
- Science
- Math
- Programming
- Data analysis
- Academic writing
In benchmark tests, o3-pro scored 93% on the AIME 2024 math exam and 84% on the GPQA Diamond benchmark. Across the board, reviewers preferred its answers over those from the standard o3 model, the benchmarks shared by OpenAI suggested.

One of the highlights of o3-pro is its access to a full toolkit inside ChatGPT, which includes – Web browsing, Visual analysis, File uploads and analysis, Python coding, as well as Memory.
Who Can Use o3-pro?
For now, o3-pro is available to ChatGPT Pro and Team users. It officially replaced o1-pro starting June 10, 2025. If you’re a Plus user, you won’t have access to this version just yet.

Enterprise and education users are next in line—they should get access in the coming week. o3-pro is also available through the OpenAI API, and pricing starts at \$20 per million input tokens and \$80 per million output tokens.
