Reliance Jio has started rolling out free access to Google AI Pro for its customers. The telecom operator announced that the 18-month subscription is now live for all users, regardless of age. This follows Jio’s earlier announcement made last week in partnership with Google, where it had promised free access to the Gemini AI Pro plan for users between 18 and 25 years old. However, the offer has now quietly expanded to include users above 25 as well. Also Read: 7 Things You Didn’t Know You Could Google Search
Jio users with an active unlimited 5G plan are eligible to claim the 18-month free Google AI Pro subscription. Normally priced at Rs 1,950 per month, the Pro tier provides access to Google’s most advanced AI features, including Gemini 2.5 Pro, which powers deeper search and creative tools. This partnership is part of Jio’s broader effort to integrate advanced AI experiences into its digital ecosystem. The rollout started on Saturday, and many users have already begun seeing the “early access” prompt inside the MyJio app.
To get the free Gemini Pro plan, make sure your Jio SIM is active and running on an unlimited 5G plan. After that, open the MyJio app and follow these quick steps:
Google AI Pro brings more advanced tools than the free version. It gives access to Gemini 2.5 Pro, which handles tougher queries, detailed research, and image generation through Nano Banana.
A new addition to the Pro plan is Veo 3.1 Fast, which lets users create short AI-generated videos with text prompts. These videos include native audio, allowing users to make quick clips for creative or professional use.
Users also get extended AI features across Google Workspace apps – including Gmail, Docs, Sheets, and Drive – along with 2TB of cloud storage shared across these services. The plan further includes tools like Gemini Code Assist for developers, NotebookLM for research, and Flow for automation with higher rate limits.
Airtel is offering Perplexity Pro for one year, while OpenAI recently began providing a free ChatGPT Go plan to Indian users.
