Google’s New AI Tool Will Mimic Your Writing Style to Respond to Emails, Says DeepMind Chief

Artificial Intelligence is taking the centre stage with rapidly changing the way we interact in our daily lives as well as with digital tools. Many big tech companies are now taking several measures to integrate AI on their platforms, and Google is one such company that’s bringing some of the most useful AI features to their products.

One of the most tedious daily tasks in our professional life is sending emails, and it seems Google has found a better way to manage them with AI. In a new revelation, DeepMind CEO Demis Hassabis has confirmed that Google is working on an advanced AI tool. This tool will be capable of drafting email response that will mirror users’ unique writing style. The upcoming feature could soon manage communication on our behalf that too sounding just like us.

Hassabis shared the news during his recent interaction and emphasized that the technology is rapidly evolving with AI in it. He says that the upcoming AI tool for emails in still in the works but now at the progressing stage. The concept that’s’ working behind the tool is to allow users to delegate email responses to an AI assistant. This AI assistant will be trained based on users previous writing habits, tone, and preferences.

“The thing I really want – and we’re working on – is can we have a next-generation email.  would love to get rid of my email. I would pay thousands of dollars per month to get rid of that. Something that would just understand what are the bread-and-butter emails, and answer in your style – and maybe make some of the easier decisions,” he said.

The tool will essentially work like a personal assistant who knows exactly what you want to send and how you want to send. Additionally, this tool would know exactly how you would reply but minus the actual typing.

If we think it with a AI response perspective, then these are nothing new. There are already features exist like Gmail’s Smart Reply and Smart Compose for years. But this tool might take the personalization to a new level. Rather than offering generic suggestion, it would offer a more personalized response based on the learning of your past intricacies of your language. It would also learn your sense of formality, tone, or humor that you want to deliver in your emails.
