ChatGPT Pulse: Personalized AI Reports You Wake Up To

OpenAI has introduced a new feature inside ChatGPT called Pulse. Instead of waiting for you to ask questions, Pulse works in the background while you sleep. By the time you wake up, it prepares a set of personalised reports to get you up to speed on your day. Think of it as your own AI-powered morning digest. How does Pulse work? Pulse quietly collects context from your previous chats, memory (if turned on), and even connected apps like Gmail or Google Calendar. Using this information, it generates 5–10 short updates, which could include:
OpenAI has explained that each update appears as a “card” with text and sometimes images. You can tap on them for details or ask ChatGPT follow-up questions.
The biggest difference between ChatGPT and Pulse is initiative. Regular ChatGPT responds when you prompt it. Pulse, on the other hand, takes the lead. It prepares updates before you even ask. This shift makes ChatGPT feel more like a personal assistant than just a chatbot.
But don’t expect it to keep scrolling endlessly like a social feed. Pulse has a clear limit — once your cards are ready, it ends with “That’s it for today.” The goal is to give you what you need without pulling you into endless distraction.
Right now, Pulse is rolling out to Pro subscribers only, which costs $200/month. It appears as a separate tab in the ChatGPT app. OpenAI has said Plus users will get access soon, but only after the system becomes more efficient. For now, it’s still a preview feature and may not always get everything right. And the free users? There is no sign of it coming for all right now. All we can do is wait.
