Instagram rolls out Comments in Stories feature; Here are the details

Instagram is all set to launch a new feature that will increase user interaction stories. It now allows users to comment on each other’s stories if they follow each other. The comments will be publicly available for all. And the users will also have the liberty to deactivate the option for keeping the feature as it was in the old times.

Instagram’s Comments in Stories feature

The Comments in Stories feature was introduced by the platform at the time of the Creator Lab launch in India. The main motive of the feature is the encourage safer and personal-level interactions on the Meta-owned platform. Similar to the Stories, the Comment on Stories feature will also work on a particular story for 24 hours.

Nonetheless, if the user saves the story in the highlights then the comments made on it will also be saved and the followers can add more comments on the highlights. This will let the conversation continue even after the story is not active. Furthermore, Instagram is also giving the option to disable the Comments in Stories feature for individual posts. This will allow the users to control the interactions on each story.

The feature is a part of Instagram’s primary strategy focusing on giving a boost to the Stories and Reels on the platform. And we can see how Instagram wants to establish itself beyond just being a social media app as it also introduced an in-app editor that removes the need of third-party applications to a great extent. Previously, the platform also introduced a Notes feature on grid posts and reels that allows the users to drop notes on reels. These notes expire after three days from the reels and posts. In the future, we can also get to see more features rolling out on Instagram to make the platform more interactive.
