Instagram is adding a fresh twist to how you discover reels with your friends. The app has officially launched Blend, a new feature that lets you create a shared Reels feed with a friend or group, all within a direct message. news Also Read: YouTube’s Next Big AI Upgrade: Lip-Syncing For Auto-Dubbed Videos Coming Soon

If the name sounds familiar, it’s because Blend has been in the works for over a year. It started as an internal test, but now Meta is officially launching it as an invite-only feature.   news Also Read: Meta Wants Employees To Build The Metaverse 5X Faster Using AI

How does the Blend feature work?

It’s super simple to use this feature. You can invite a friend or a group directly from a DM. Once they accept, Instagram automatically generates a custom Reels feed based on both of your watch preferences. As you scroll, you’ll see labels showing which clips are suggested for whom, giving you a glimpse into your friends’ feeds and the kind of content they consume. news Also Read: After Phone And iPad, Instagram Could Soon Be On Your TV: Here’s What We Know

Blend follows Meta’s recent trend of giving users more visibility into their friends’ Reels activity. A few weeks ago, Instagram also introduced a dedicated tab that shows Reels liked by your friends. It’s definitely a fun and cool way to discover fresh content, but it might also lead to some embarrassing moments if too much of your feed is exposed. A little pro tip: head into Instagram settings and clean up your feed if you’d rather not share certain recommendations.

Still, Blend is a great way to share new Reels suggestions and explore creators who might not have popped up in your feed yet. Plus, it adds a fun layer of discovering shared obsessions with your friends. If your recommendations have been feeling a little too predictable lately, Blend might just be the content remix you didn’t know you needed.
