Canva users reported several issues with the website and mobile app.
Canva, the popular online design platform, experienced an unexpected outage during the early hours of Tuesday. The outage rendered the website unusable for hours, affecting hundred of users globally, including India. According to Downdetector, the issue started at around 8:00 AM on July 8, 2025, and over 600 reports were logged within a couple of hours. The outage seemed to have majorly affected the website, while a smaller portion reported issues with the mobile app. Also Read: OpenAI Brings Spotify, Canva, Coursera and More Inside ChatGPT: Here’s What You Can Do

According to the website outage tracker, over 100 reports were from India itself with 46 per cent users reporting problems with the website, while 42 per cent reports highlighted issues with server connection and 12 per cent related to the app. Users were unable to upload images while the server connection issues resulted in delays and disruptions, affecting those who rely on Canva for time-sensitive design work.
Frustrated users even took to social media platforms like X (formerly Twitter) to check whether others faced similar issues. It soon turned out into a meme-fest for many users. Here are some reactions on the Canva outage:

The outage reports peaked at around 10:00 AM. While the issue affected the workflow for many users across the globe, the design platform now seems to have gained momentum and is working properly.
This isn’t the first time that Canva has faced issues. Back in May, the online designing platform faced a major outage where thousands of users in India weren’t able to proceed with their artwork or upload images.
