Tecno CAMON 30 Pro 5G launched with MediaTek Dimensity 8200 Ultimate

Tecno has launched three new phones to the CAMON 30 series, which debuted at the Mobile World Congress (MWC) back in February. The new CAMON 30 Pro 5G, CAMON 30 5G, and CAMON 30 are joining the CAMON 30 Premier that arrived last month. The Pro model sits right below the Premier but is meant for most power customers. The new Tecno CAMON 30 Pro 5G is the company’s first phone to use a Sony IMX890 sensor, offering features such as optical image stabilisation (OIS). It is also among the rare phones to use the MediaTek Dimensity 8200 Ultimate processor, which can offer fast performance without breaking the bank.

The new Tecno CAMON 30 Pro 5G has been launched in Nigeria, meaning Indian customers cannot buy it. However, the brand will likely launch it in the Indian market sooner or later. In the Nigerian market, the CAMON 30 Pro 5G starts at NGN 538,000, approximately ₹34,015. It will be available from early April in Nigeria and soon in other markets, but an exact date is unclear.

Featuring 5G connectivity, the new CAMON 30 Pro 5G uses a MediaTek Dimensity 8200 Ultimate that is based on the 4nm architecture. Coupled with the Mali-G610 GPU, this processor can offer good gaming performance. However, it cannot reach the highs of the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3, currently the top-most Android phone chipset. It has 12GB of RAM and 512GB of internal storage but no support for a microSD card. The CAMON 30 Pro 5G features a 6.78-inch Full-HD+ AMOLED display with support for up to 144Hz refresh rate. With that, it is one of the few mid-range phones to come with that sort of refresh rate. The display also has an embedded fingerprint sensor.

The Tecno CAMON 30 Pro 5G runs Android 14-based HiOS 14 and features a Dolby Atmos-tuned stereo speaker. For photography, the phone comes with a 50MP Sony IMX890 sensor with OIS support, alongside a 50MP ultrawide camera and a 2MP depth-sensing camera. The main camera is capable of recording 4K videos. For selfies and video calls, the CAMON 30 Pro 5G packs a 50MP eye autofocus camera with a dual-colour temperature flash. The smartphone uses a 5000mAh battery with support for 70W fast charging.
