Marvel’s Wolverine Release Timeline Leaked; Venom Game In Development

Game developer Insomniac Games has been working on the Marvel’s Wolverine title for quite some years and it was revealed with a cinematic teaser at PlayStation Showcase in 2021. The game will now reportedly release in 2026. Insomniac Games is also said to be developing a Venom game, which will be a spin-off of Marvel’s Spider-Man 2. A report in MP1st claims that Marvel’s Wolverine is on track and would release in 2026. The report also cites a source at Insomniac, claiming that the Venom game is still under development. It had earlier appeared in leaked after the studio fell victim to a ransomware attack in 2023. According to the report, the spin-off of Spider-Man 2 is in “active development.” However, there are not much information about the game as of now. Marvel’s Venom Storyline Leak

The MP1st report also shared key details about the story of the Venom game. The titular role will be taken on by the character Eddie Brock, aligning with the comics and Sony’s trilogy of Venom movies. The story of the Venom game will take inspiration from the comics for Brock’s role, rather than drawing similarities from Tom Hardy’s character from the Venom films.

Moreover, the Venom game is expected to see the symbiote villain Carnage’s return. Cleetus Kasady will take on the villain’s role, just like the Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 game. Carnage was earlier teased in the Spider-Man 2 and was expected to make an appearance through a DLC. However, Insomniac Games announced last year that there are no plans to bring additional story content.

The story details are not official yet and are based on leaks following the ransomware attack. The studio has not announced any plans for a Venom title or other Marvel games for PS5 since it released the Spider-Man 2 on PC this year.
