Sony has announced the lineup of games coming to the PlayStation Plus Game Catalog in September, and it’s shaping up to be a strong month for subscribers. The latest wrestling game from Visual Concepts brings a number of gameplay upgrades over last year’s entry. WWE 2K25 introduces The Island, an online PvPvE mode that lets players explore with custom characters in a style inspired by NBA 2K’s “The City.” Traditional modes such as Showcase, MyGM, and MyRise return with fresh improvements, while new mechanics like chain wrestling, barricade diving, and Bloodline Rules matches make the in-ring action more dynamic. For the first time, the franchise also supports intergender wrestling, a long-requested feature. The game will be available on both PS4 and PS5. Another standout this month is Persona 5 Tactica, a strategy RPG from Atlus. The game takes place during the events of Persona 5 and brings back the Phantom Thieves, this time dropping them into a strange new world under the control of the Legionnaires. The game uses grid-based maps for its turn-based combat and offers a new storyline while retaining familiar characters from the original Persona series. Survival fans will want to check out Green Hell, an open-world survival game set deep in the Amazon rainforest. You’ll need to gather resources, craft tools, and fight to stay alive while following the story of Jake Higgins as he searches for his missing wife. The game can be played solo or in co-op, and it’s coming to both PS4 and PS5.
Horror fans have a couple of interesting picks this month. Crow Country leans into retro survival horror, with visuals and atmosphere that will feel instantly familiar to anyone who grew up on Resident Evil. On the other hand, Conscript takes a different route, throwing players into the gritty trenches of World War I for a tense top-down horror experience that stands out from the usual settings.
The lineup also includes Fate/Samurai Remnant, an action RPG that mixes supernatural combat with a historical backdrop, and The Invincible, a narrative-driven sci-fi adventure designed for the PS5.
Finally, PS Plus Deluxe and Premium members will also receive a classic this month – Legacy of Kain: Defiance – originally released in 2003, joining the Classics Catalog on September 16.
