Sony kicked off the official Summer Game Fest and made some really cool announcements. This presentation showcased some fresh new titles like Pragmata, Silent Hill f, alongside some totally unexpected game announcements. Here is every major title announcement that you need to know about. 

State of Play 2025 Highlights 

Marvel Tōkon: Fighting Souls

One of the most exciting announcements was a new Marvel fighting game. Sony showed gameplay of Marvel characters battling one on one. The game is similar to other fighting games like Tekken and Street Fighter, but brings favorite movie characters as playable characters. Just imagine Doctor Doom and Iron Man squaring off! The gameplay also looked great, and if you love fighting games, this 4v4 tag-team action could be your cup of tea. The Marvel Tōkon: Fighting Souls officially drops in 2026.

Final Fantasy Tactics Returns

Another big announcement was a classic game making its way back. The absolute classic strategy RPG, Final Fantasy Tactics, is back with Final Fantasy Tactics: The Ivalice Chronicles. This is not just a port, but it’s an enhanced version with fully voiced dialogue, a slicker, updated UI, and major graphical improvements. Plus, there’s a classic version that blends the original game’s charm with the beloved War of the Lions translation.

Capcom’s Pragmata 

Remember Pragmata, that mysterious sci-fi action game Capcom announced back in 2020? It also got a surprise release and is now expected to drop in 2026. This would be a space exploration game where you’ll play as two characters navigating at the same time to get through rogue robots and other obstacles. This game finally re-emerged from the shadows with a confirmed 2026 release.

Nioh 3 

Nioh 3 was also announced, and the ninja is ready to return in 2026! This is a fantastic combat game and one of the most famous titles by Team Ninja. An official demo is already available to play on the PS Store for the PS5. So, for those who’ve been eagerly awaiting this game, you can now get a taste of it. 

More Awesome Reveals & Release Dates

Some other exciting titles include the Mortal Kombat Legacy Kollection, which was announced to bring the OG classics to modern-day consoles. This includes an exhaustive collection featuring arcade, console, and handheld versions of bone-crunching Mortal Kombat games. Another surprising announcement was Silent Hill f, which gave us a look at this spine-chilling horror game. The best part is that it’s coming this year on September 25, 2025. 

A highly anticipated Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater remake was also announced. The final announcement that looks really promising was a thief game called Thief VR: Legacy of Shadow.  This should be interesting to see, as players can sneak around and find treasures like never before in virtual reality.
