OpenAI keeps on bringing new features to its platform, and this time, the tech giant has officially rolled out a major update to ChatGPT. The new updates brought a wave of new features and improvements to both Free and Plus users. If you have been using the AI assistant casually or rely on it for serious tasks, then these updates and new features could help you and are set to enhance the way you interact with the platform.
The company has expanded the capabilities of ChatGPT and this time the spotlight is on coders and casual users alike. The company is opening its advanced AI programming assistant Codex to all ChatGPT Plus subscribers. In addition, the tech giant is making its powerful memory feature widely available to free users.
The Codex is designed in a way that it can assist with coding tasks and hence it is now equipped with the ability to browse the internet. The feature will be switched off by default for safety and privacy, but if you choose to enable it, then Codex can fetch the most recent libraries, documents, and code related resources from the internet. It is capable of generating and refining code in real time based on current standards.
Other than browsing, the Codex will be more collaborative in terms of handling requests. Whether it is reviewing code, changes, or helping in clean integrated updates, the tool will offer meaningful and essential support in order to streamlining your workflow.
In addition, there is an introduction of voice input support. Now developers can speak their instructions instead of typing. This will make it easier for them to interact with Codex hands-free or while multitasking.
There are some addition for the Free users too and they are being given the access of limited version of the AI’s memory function. This means that the chatbot can now recall details from their previous conversations in order to offer more personalized response. This feature was earlier reserved for only paid subscribers.
The memory feature helps in the reduction of the repetition. If you are working on a long term project, or writing, or getting advice, the ChatGPT will now be able to adapt more effectively to your context over time. You can now view, manage, or delete memory, and even disable it altogether if privacy is a concern.
