Google Wallet gained a lot of popularity as the application tends to replace the physical wallet. And now, it has taken a step ahead in the direction by introducing an AI feature that will help in carrying passes in digital identification documents as well. The feature will replace the old option of storing photographs and will allow the user to scan a photo of any pass like an insurance card, event ticket, or gym membership, and then create a digital version of the same that will be stored in the Google Wallet. Google Wallet: A step closer to digitalization

Google Wallet will not compromise the safety of your important documents as well. For example, if you are adding a government ID or health ID to the app, it will be categorized as private information and it will not be synchronized with other stores information on the application. As for the working of the feature, as soon as you take a picture, Google will extract the information from there and allow you to edit the common fields. Not only that, but you can also add fields on your own if you feel necessary.

The pass created in the application can be changed into any of the mentioned categories – car insurance, ID card, health insurance, event tickets, loyalty card, tax ID card, passport, student ID, driver’s license, vehicle registration, business card, etc. The ‘Everything Else’ section has started rolling out in the United States. High chances are that it will soon reach the Indian shores as well.
