Realme is finally coming up with its most affordable 5G phone, C65. The upcoming Realme C65 will cost less than Rs 10,000, delivering on the company’s promise from over a year ago. Even though Realme’s entry will likely disrupt the sub-Rs 10,000 5G smartphone market, customers already have several options they can buy right away. Realme has announced the launch date for the C65 alongside confirming key details.
The Realme C65 launch will take place in India on April 26 at noon. The company will announce the phone’s price and availability information. Realme fans and the phone’s potential buyers can tune into live streams on different platforms on the launch day to catch the real-time announcements.
Customers looking for a 5G phone that does not break the bank can consider the upcoming Realme C65 smartphone. Realme claims the C65 will be the “world’s first smartphone” with a MediaTek Dimensity 6300 processor, which debuted last week. Based on TSMC’s 6nm process, the Dimensity 6300 chipset houses two Cortex-A76 cores clocked at 2.4GHz and six Cortex-A55 clocked at 2GHz. This chipset is essentially a successor to the Dimensity 6100+ with an overclocked main core cluster.
The Realme C65 will have a 120Hz display, although the panel type is unclear. Considering the company is targeting the sub-Rs 10,000 price segment, an AMOLED panel seems unlikely to be present. While a 120Hz LCD will offer a smooth scrolling experience, customers will miss out on inky blacks and vibrant colours in movies and videos. The display has a 1nit low blue light certification for a phone for under Rs 10,000, according to the company.
Realme has also confirmed the upcoming phone will use an IP54 rating for dust and water resistance. While this is not the most effective water resistance level for underwater use, it will ensure water splashes are not a problem for the phone. Design-wise, the Realme C65 takes inspiration from the company’s recent phones, such as the P1 Pro 5G, Narzo 70 Pro 5G, and the Realme 12 series. Customers should not expect a metallic body on the phone considering its price, but the company says the C65 has a TUV SUD certification to last at least 48 months.
