The event is called The Android Show: I/O Edition, and it's expected to dive deep into innovative new experiences coming to Android this year. It will be a pre-recorded stream premiering on YouTube on May 13 at 1 PM ET (10:30 PM IST), and it will be hosted by Sameer Samat, President of the Android Ecosystem at Google. This is a big move by Google, giving Android its own dedicated event and signaling its growing importance. According to Google, there's simply too much Android news to fit into one keynote. That suggests we're in for a serious look at the platform's future and maybe even a few surprises. What can we expect from this event?

To build some early hype, Google dropped a quick teaser video featuring Samat walking through the Android team's HQ and hinting at some of the new things they've been working on. With Android 16 in active beta, Wear OS rumoured for a major reboot, and AI in every part of the ecosystem, there's a lot they could tease in this event. Most likely we will get more insight into Android's upcoming features, updates to the Pixel ecosystem, new cross-device integrations, and possibly early looks at foldable or tablet enhancements.
