Apple's iOS update brings fresh improvements and updates every year, but this time the company is going much further with iOS 26. The latest iOS 26 begins rolling out today, 15 September. As per Apple, this time, the iOS update is not just any routine refresh, but it is being described as one of the most ambitious upgrades the iPhone has seen in years.

From Liquid Glass to Apple's expanded use of artificial intelligence, iOS 26 has the potential to change how people interact with their iPhones every single day.

iOS 26 Features

Liquid Glass Design

One of the most talked about features of iOS 26 is the Liquid Glass design that's evolving the iPhone interface. This design change gives your iPhone new icons, menus, and controls that look like semi-transparent, shifting, and refracting light like real glass. You just have to move your phone slightly, and you will start noticing subtle three-dimensional effects on the Lock Screen.

The Home Screen gets more customisation than ever, with options to tint app icons, switch to a translucent style, or keep them bold and solid.

Apple Intelligence

Apple Intelligence takes the centre stage in iOS 26, and hence, now if you need to translate a FaceTime call in real time, consider it done! What's possible is that now your email list can be turned into reminders without copy-pasting.

Apple Intelligence even suggests adding calendar events from photos. Additionally, it also helps create personalized emojis based on your friend's faces. Talking about tools like Image Playground, it takes the creativity further by letting you mix emojis, text, and styles to generate custom graphics instantly.

Everyday Features are now Smarter.

Not all changes are flashy, but they might make iOS 26 indispensable. Call Screening now acts as a digital gatekeeper, asking unknown callers to state their name before the phone rings. Messages adopts a similar screening for spammy texts. There's also Hold Assist, which waits on customer support lines for you and pings you when a human agent picks up.

Music lovers get AutoMix in Apple Music, blending tracks like a live DJ, and Maps gets proactive with alerts on daily routes before you even leave home.
