OnePlus is reportedly working on two new flagship smartphones one of which will be powered by the upcoming Snapdragon 8 Elite 2 chipset. A new leak by a reliable tipster hints at two new devices, which are expected to launch in China in October. While the leak doesn't mention the name of the phones, it is likely to be around the upcoming OnePlus 15 and OnePlus Ace 6.
Chinese tipster Digital Chat Station today took to microblogging platform Weibo to share key details about the OnePlus 15. According to the leak, the upcoming flagship will sport a 1.5K resolution display with a 165Hz refresh rate. The phone is said to feature an upgraded performance engine, which would allow for native-level 165 FPS gaming.
The leak also mentions a new Moon Rock Black colour variant for the upcoming OnePlus 15. The phone is said to come with a sandstone magnetic protective case, having an improved texture.
A previous leak by Digital Chat Station also claimed that the OnePlus 15 will be equipped with a BOE-supplied 6.78-inch flat OLED LTPO display. The panel will use LIPO (Low-Injection Pressure Overmolding) technology, resulting in ultra-thin bezels on all four sides.
OnePlus 15 Specifications, Features (Expected)
According to several reports, the OnePlus 15 will be powered by Qualcomm's upcoming Snapdragon 8 Elite 2 chipset. In terms of optics, the handset may feature a triple camera setup headlined by a 50MP main sensor with optical image stabilisation (OIS) support. It may be accompanied by a 50MP ultra-wide camera and a 50MP periscope telephoto lens with 3x optical zoom.
Under the hood, the OnePlus 15 could house a large 7,000mAh battery unit with 100W fast wired and 50W wireless charging support.
Previously, a leak suggested that the OnePlus 15 may make a shift in design. It is said to ditch the circular camera module in favour of a squared-out island, positioned in the top-left corner on the rear panel.
