How to talk to Alexa in Hindi: Step-by-step guide to change language

Alexa is fun to talk to. Its witty answers are always amusing. But they can be even more interesting if you change the language. English is the default language for Alexa on a new Echo device in India, but the Amazon voice assistant can speak more languages. Hindi is one of them. You can talk to Alexa in Hindi and make it perform tasks that it usually does when talked to in English. But that constraint is not a deal-breaker especially if you are going to ask Alexa to set an alarm, play or pause music, or just some trivia questions. Moreover, changing the language of Alexa from English to Hindi will make it easier for other members of your family, especially in north India. Changing Alexa language

  • The companion app for Alexa is the Alexa App that is available on both Android and iOS.
  • Open the Alexa app on your iPhone, iPad, or Android.
  • Go to the Devices section available on the bar at the bottom.
  • Tap Echo & Alexa in the next section.
  • Now, select the Echo device you want to change the language for. If you have multiple devices, you will have to repeat the steps for each Echo device.
  • Tap Language in the next section.
  • Choose Hindi from the list of languages along with the voice you want Alexa to use.

    • And you are done. You can now talk to Alexa in Hindi and you will get replies from the voice assistant in the same language except for the functions that are still not supported by the Hindi language.
