The wait is nearly over for fans of the Battlefield franchise. EA has confirmed that Battlefield 6 will officially launch worldwide later this week, with global rollout timings now available across PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S. The publisher has also opened up pre-loading for players eager to jump straight into the action when the game goes live.
Battlefield 6 Release Date and Timings
According to EA's official post on X (formerly Twitter), Battlefield 6 will release globally on October 10, though timings vary by region. In the US, the game unlocks at 8am PDT / 11am EDT, while players in the UK can start playing from 4pm BST. For Indian players, Battlefield 6 will go live at 2:00am IST on October 11, just a few hours after its global debut.
Pre-loads are already live on Steam, PlayStation Store, and Xbox Store, allowing users to download the massive game files ahead of launch. However, EA has confirmed that pre-loading isn't available on the Epic Games Store at the moment.
What to Expect After Battlefield 6 Launch
Once Battlefield 6 goes live, EA plans to kick off the first season of post-launch content on October 28. The game's first post-launch update, Season 1: Rogue Ops, is scheduled for October 28. It will bring a brand-new map called Blackwell Fields, along with a 4v4 multiplayer mode named Strikepoint. Players can also look forward to new weapons, vehicles, and attachments as part of the update.
Then, in November, EA will roll out the second phase of the season. It will add another fresh map Eastwood and a new 8v8 mode called Sabotage. Players can also look forward to a new Battle Pickups feature and more customisation options for their loadouts.
Finally, on December 9, EA will roll out the third and final phase of Season 1, featuring a winter-themed update for the popular Empire State map, along with a limited-time event and a new melee weapon.
A New Era for Battlefield
Battlefield 6 marks the series' return after a long break since Battlefield 2042. With this new release, EA seems determined to bring the franchise back to its roots intense, large-scale battles, realistic destruction, and refined gameplay mechanics.
Battlefield 6 arrives just a few weeks before Call of Duty: Black Ops 7, setting the stage for another big face-off between two of the world's biggest FPS franchises.
