YouTube Rolls Out AI Updates To Make Searching Videos Easier: Can You Try It?

Have you ever felt frustrated while simply typing a query to search on YouTube and getting a number of video results, some of them not even related to the ones that you may need? Then know you are not alone! However, to solve the issue to some extent, YouTube is rolling out a new AI-powered search results carousel. How will it benefit you? It will help you find useful videos faster.
So instead of scrolling through endless thumbnails, you'll see a new layout that highlights key content right at the top of your search results. Let's say you search for something like "best places to visit in Delhi-NCR." With the new feature, YouTube will show you a large featured video at the top of the results. Underneath that, you'll see a row of video suggestions that are related to your search. These aren't just random picks, they're selected with the help of AI to match your interests.
What's even more helpful is the short text description that comes with each video. It gives you a quick idea of what the video is about before you even hit play.
YouTube AI Features: Who Can Try It?
But there is a catch! These features are only for Premium users in the U.S. for now. This feature is currently available only in English and works on the YouTube mobile app for Android and iOS. YouTube started testing it with a small group earlier this year and is now offering it to more Premium users through the end of July.
Apart from this, there's another AI update you might spot soon. YouTube's conversational AI tool, which was previously only available to Premium members, is now being tested with some non-Premium users in the U.S.
If you see a sparkle icon below a video near the Like and Share buttons, you can tap it to ask questions about the video or get recommendations on similar content. It's especially useful if you're watching something educational or just want to dive deeper into a topic. This tool is powered by Google's Gemini AI and currently works only on Android devices.
