YouTube Music's Ask Music feature lets you create playlist with AI

YouTube Music is getting a new feature named Ask for Music that will let the users create a custom playlist by just writing a little description of what they want to hear. The feature is being rolled out for the masses you know. The feature is appearing on the YouTube Music application as a bright purple and pink card that says, 'Introducing Ask Music.' The tool will curate playlists based on the prompts given by the user. For example, you can ask the AI to suggest slow melodic songs and it will create a radio station with the same name. YouTube Ask Music Feature

A report by 9to5Google suggested that the 'Ask Music' feature will be only available to people who have a YouTube Premium membership. The feature is being rolled out for the US, Australia, and Canada in the beginning and the rollout for other countries is still under wraps. From the first impressions, it looks like the feature will be only available in English and only on the Android version of the YouTube Music application. The feature was confirmed by Google in July 2024. Google also stated that the feature will be first rolled out for the United States of America and then it will be rolled out for other major markets. And both YouTube and Spotify offer the feature only with subscriptions. It is quite evident that YouTube Music's new feature is a move to stay relevant and don't miss out on anything that Spotify has to offer. It will be interesting to see how many people prefer YouTube Music over Spotify with the addition of the latest Ask Music feature. As of now, Spotify has a larger market share in terms of subscribers as compared to YouTube Music.
