The government has introduced a new rule for SIM card buying.

The new rule goes into effect from December 1.

Under the new rules, bulk SIM card sales will be banned.

PoS agesnts will need to sign an agreement with telecom company to stop illegal activities.

Not adhering to the agreement can attract a penalty of Rs 10 lakh.

Customers will need to share their Aadhaar card mandatorily for a new SIM card.

A mobile number will be assigned to a new customer only after 90 days of disconnection by the previous user.

Customers can continue to buy up to nine SIM cards on one ID card.
