Developed by IIT Madras, BharOS aims to benefit 100 crore smartphone users in India by offering a more secure and private mobile operating system.
BharOS is an AOSP (Android Open Source Project) based operating system with no Google apps or services.
BharOS does not come with any Google Services, unlike AndroidOS. BharOS does not come with any default apps that the user is forced to use.
It comes with company-specific Private App Store Services (PASS) that will let you access trusted apps.
Developers aim to cut down reliance on foreign country OS and services. It intends to contribute to atmanirbhar bharat.
As of now, it is not available to download on mobile phones.
