Former YouTube CEO has died at the age of 56 due to cancer. Here's a look at her professional career, from starting as a marketing lead to the YouTube CEO.

Born in Santa Clara County, California, Wojcicki studied history and literature at Harvard University.

Although she later completed her MS in economics, her main interest was in technology.

Wojcicki then worked in marketing at Intel Corporation and later joined Google as the company's first marketing manager in 1999.

Then she co-developed Google Image Search as a product manager with newly hired engineer Huican Zhu.

Around that time, in 2003, she was also the first product manager of Google AdSense.

Subsequently, she was promoted to Google's senior vice president of Advertising & Commerce and looked after Adwords, AdSense, and Google Analytics.

In 2006, she reportedly recommended and managed to acquire its then-emerging competitor YouTube for $1.6 billion and bring it under Google.

In 2014, Wojcicki became the YouTube CEO and worked to bring several of its features. In 2023, she finally stepped down as the YouTube CEO.
