7 Tips to prevent your AC from catching fire

Here are all the tips and tricks you can follow to prevent your AC from catching fire. 

Change air filters - Dust might accumulate on air filters so it's essential to change air filters regularly. 

Clean the outdoor unit - While you change your AC filters, make sure to also clean the dust accumulated on the fans of the outdoor unit. 

Let the AC breathe - AC and its outdoor unit's airflow shouldn't be obstructed. Don't keep any products or items near it, maintain 2 feet of distance at least.

Don't plug it anywhere - ACs require dedicated circuits to power on, so don't use any three-pin adapter or extension cord to power it on. 

If you hear weird noises or excessive vibrations while the AC is turned on, turn it off and call the technician to check it. 

Turn it off when not using - It's always to turn off your AC when not using. 

Service - Lastly, ACs require servicing at least once a year. Make sure a technician services your AC before using it every summer.
