iPadOS 18 brings mighty Calculator app and lots of AI

Apple announced the iPadOS 18 at the Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) to introduce new features for the iPad.

It borrows many iOS 18 features, such as colour customisation for home screen app icons.

But the biggest shoutout is for the Calculator app, which is finally here on the iPad.

In addition to letting you calculate, the app can solve math problems after you write them out using the Apple Pen.

It will also improve the appearance of handwritten text using machine learning through feature called Smart Script.

The Notes app on iPad now has collapsible headers for better clarity in documents.

The Control Center has changed to include scrollable pages with multiple tools.

Apple Intelligence, Apple's generative AI, will help you write, summarise, and proofread notes.
