Counterfeit iPhones have flooded the market recently, making it difficult for customers to identify originals.
While there are many ways to identify original iPhones, one of them is foolproof.
By checking a the iPhone registration ID on the government website, you can check if it is genuine.
Every iPhone has a code ending with the letter 'R', imprinted on the retail box.
The iPhone also has this information in the Regulatory section, so no problem if you have lost the box.
Look this number up on the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) website.
If there is a listing along with the iPhone's information available on the website, it is genuine.
In case this number is not listed on the BIS website, you likely have a fake iPhone.
