PAN Card Scam: Here's how to protect yourself

There are several scams going around PAN card such as the phishing scams, fraudulent loan applications credit misuse, etc. 

Here's how you can protect yourself. 

Do not enter personal information on suspicious websites. 

Make sure the website that's asking for PAN starts with https and not http. The latter is not secure. 

Monitor credit score and check for any unnecessary credit account openings. Check all your PAN-linked transactions on Form 26AS.

Here's how to file a complaint. 

Visit the Tax Information Network portal. 

Head to the Customer Care section and tap Complaints/Queries. 

Then fill out the complaint form as per the instructions on the screen.
