Ahead of this year's first solar eclipse, Google has shared photography tips for capturing the Solar Eclipse for Pixel users.

Trial and error - Google suggests that users should practice by pointing at the sky and tapping where the sky meets the sun's edge.

This way the smartphone camera may be able to focus clearly.

Use a tripod - Despite phone's OIS, it is recommended that Pixel users use a tripod to reduce accidental shakes while capturing the eclipse.

Do not use Astrophotography - Pixel users are not recommended to use astrophotography due to the exposure delay.

Get Creative - Instead of placing the eclipse in the centre, use the camera app's grid and compose a photo using the rule of thirds.

Best take may help - Even if you are able to capture a photo by seconds of delay, don't fret as the 'Best take' feature may help you find the best shot.

Lastly, Google blog recommends Pixel photographers to also look at the eclipse firsthand while capturing images.
