PS5 Slim vs PS5: Here's what's changed

Sony has launched the new PS5 Slim in India priced at Rs 44,990 for Digital Edition and Rs 54,990 for Disc Edition. 

PlayStation 5 Slim succeeds the original PlayStation 5 released in 2020. But what's new in the updated Slim console? 

Form factor - PS5 Slim is slightly smaller than the original PS5. Its weight has been reduced by up to 24 percent and its volume by 30 percent. 

Detachable disc drive - The PS5 Slim supports a detachable disc, meaning you can remove it if you don't need it. 

Also, if you bought a Digital Edition, you can add a new disc drive by purchasing it anytime later.

More Storage - PS5 Slim has 1TB of SSD storage as opposed to 825GB in the existing PS5. 

The rest of the specs remain the same. The console has an 8-core AMD Ryzen Zen 2 processor paired with AMD RDNA 2 graphics. 

It supports 4K video output at a 120Hz refresh rate. The console will go on sale from April 5 in the country.
