The New Delhi Municipal Corporation (NDMC) is planning to increase parking charges.

At its 91 parking locations, the fee will be doubled.

The affected parking locations will include Delhi's major hubs.

They include AIIMS, Sarojini Nagar Market, and Khan Market.

The decision is aimed at discouraging private vehicle use.

This will minimise vehicular pollution in New Delhi.

New Delhi and adjoining areas are battling severe air pollution like every year.

The doubled fee will remain effective till January 2024.
