WhatsApp users can no longer enjoy unlimited storage

WhatsApp users on Android won't be able to enjoy unlimited storage this year 

The reason being that WhatsApp backups will start counting toward Google Drive storage starting this year 

Google Drive offers only 15GB of storage

So far, Android users enjoyed unlimited WhatsApp storage as it wasn't counted toward Google Drive storage 

iOS users for several years have been using 5 GB of Apple iCloud storage, that said, 15GB is still better in this case

Now, to get more storage, Android users in India can buy a Google One subscription 

Google One starts at Rs 130 per month or Rs 1,300 per year for 100GB of cloud storage

Google One also has other plans like 200GB, 2TB, 5TB, 10TB, and more
