WhatsApp ads showing up? Here’s how to hide them

First, know that ads don’t appear in personal chats or calls; they are limited to the Updates tab in Status and Channels.

You can’t completely turn off ads, but you can control what you see by hiding advertisers.

To hide an ad in Status, tap the three dots on the ad and select Hide ad.

For Channel ads, tap Sponsored below the ad and choose Hide ad to reduce similar promotions later.

Go to Settings > Account > Ad preferences for Status & Channels to manage advertisers you’ve recently seen.

You can also report ads if they feel irrelevant or inappropriate to improve your future ad experience.
