Instagram may soon switch to vertical profile grids entirely

Instagram is bringing a major change to the platform.
It is testing a new format for photos.
Instead of square images, all the photos posted on the platform may switch to vertical rectangles.
Instagram boss, Adam Mosseri, said that it's brutal to crop down 4 by 3 photos or 9 by 16 videos to square.
That said, we may see the platform losing support for square images later if we go by Mosseri's statement.
Note that this comes after Reels on the platform became successful, as most of them are suited to tall phone screens.
For the unversed, Instagram, initially, only allowed posting square images.
However, that limit was removed in 2015.
