How To Use Telegram Without Sharing Your Phone Number

Telegram lets you hide your phone number while chatting, so people don’t need your number to find or contact you.

First, open Telegram Settings and tap on Privacy and Security to manage who can see your number.

Tap Phone Number and change visibility from Everybody to Nobody to completely hide it.

Under Who can find me by my number, select My Contacts or Nobody to prevent strangers from locating you.

Set a Username in your profile. This allows others to message you using your username instead of your phone number.

Share only your Telegram username in groups, social media, or with new contacts to keep your number private.

You can still join groups, channels, and chats normally — hiding your number doesn’t affect Telegram’s core features.
