How To Use Telegram Without Sharing Your Number

Did you know you can use Telegram without ever revealing your phone number? With just a few privacy tweaks, you can chat freely and safely.

First of all, go to Settings → Privacy and Security. This is where you’ll find all the options to control who can see your number.

Under Privacy, select ‘Phone Number’ - this section decides who can view your mobile number on Telegram.

To stay private, choose ‘Nobody’. This hides your phone number from all users - even those who message you first.

If you still want a few people to see your number, just add them manually under ‘Add Users’ exceptions.

Go to Settings → Edit Profile → Username and set a unique handle. You can now share your username instead of your number.

That’s it! Anyone can message you using your username - no number, no spam, just safe and private conversations.
