How To Mute Notifications For One Chat On WhatsApp

If one chat keeps blowing up your phone, WhatsApp lets you silence it - without blocking or deleting the contact. Here’s how you can do it.

Go to the conversation you want to mute. This can be an individual or a group chat that’s been sending too many alerts.

Once inside the chat, tap on the person’s or group’s name at the top of the screen to open chat settings.

Scroll a little, and you’ll find “Mute Notifications.” Tap it to see the available time durations for muting.

WhatsApp gives you options - 8 hours, 1 week, or Always. Pick what suits you best. For peace of mind, “Always” works great!

You can also disable “Show Notifications” if you don’t want muted chats to appear in your notification bar at all.

That’s it! your chat is now silent. You’ll still receive messages, but your phone won’t buzz every time they text.
